I don't really follow women's soccer, but it's hard not to catch some of the World Cup airing on the two ESPNs. The story today is the yanking of Solo in favor of Scurry, who hasn't played one minute in this World Cup and hasn't played a game since last June or something. The coach thought because Scurry was undefeated against Brazil, she gave the US the best chance of winning. Ah, it didn't really pan out. Brazil - Four, US - Zero. Or nil or whatever. It was an ass-whopping. Yeah, there was a terrible red card given to the US, but it probably wouldn't have mattered. I'd sure love to ride that bus back with Scurry, Solo and Coach Ryan. Oh, also noteworthy is the fact that Solo was dedicating this Cup to her dead father. Also worth mentioning: Scurry looks like one of the extras from the "Thriller" video. I thought Halloween was in October. Yikes. Anyway, have fun answering the reporters, Mr. Ryan.
